Cheapest Cars to Insure
January 29th, 2011Obviously the factor with the largest weight when it comes to determining your insurance renewal is the car you’re trying to insure – or maybe not these days, feels like a random number game with the ridiculous quotes. Insurance companies are evaluating how much of a risk you are when you ask for a quote – obviously they take into account a large number of factors with the car itself being the key factor.
The main thing that affects the insurance quote is the size or power of the engine in the car to be insured, so obviously, if you’re shopping for a cheap quote you would be best opting to buy a small or less-powerful car. You might also find that trying to insure a physically bigger car rather than a hatchback will turn out a cheaper premium, since insurance companies also use past statistics as to what class of people claim on what cars, so for example if you’re a 17 year old and go to insure a larger car that is technically less popular with your age group, there will be a smaller number of claims and you will get a cheaper quote.
You may also consider buying and insuring a ‘classic’ vehicle since these are very rarely crashed and will be some of the cheapest cars to insure despite the typically larger engines you will find in older cars.
